Frequency

When I showed my roommate my brand-spanking-new blog, her response was “I really don’t think this is representative of your personality.” Truer words have never been spoken. Rainbows? I don’t think so. Hearts? Not so much. Eventually this layout will be changed. Until then, we’ll all have to deal with it.

This blog does make sense for two reasons though. The layout name is City Slicker. I like cities. The title of the blog is “it’s like…” because I like making random comparisons.

Comparisons… Connections… Patterns… Repetition… Frequency.

Frequency is one of the many things I love about advertising. When I’m hit with a message through several different mediums within the same week it makes me smile. Because that is a sign of a well thought-out media plan.

I was flipping through O, The Oprah Magazine the other day and saw an ad for Alli, a new diet pill. I remember the ad because I had to read the copy to understand it. (People still read copy!) I also remembered the picture of the product, because it was unique. The next day I saw Alli, along with a little display, behind the register at CVS. Amazing how that works. It seems as if Alli is on its way to a successful product launch.
